जर्नल के बारे में

Pajjoya: Journal of Indian Knowledge Systems in Education is a peer-reviewed, open-access, multilingual research journal devoted to the scholarly study of Indian Knowledge Systems and their engagement with contemporary educational theory, policy and practice.

The journal takes its name from the Ardhamāgadhī Prakrit word pajjoya (पज्जोय) — illumination, radiance — corresponding to Sanskrit pradyota, recorded in the Paia-sadda-mahannavo. The word occurs in the Namotthuṇaṁ (Śakra-stava), in the epithet loga-pajjoya-garāṇaṁ: those who make light for the world.

Published half-yearly in English, Hindi, and Sanskrit across five sections — Śikṣā-Darśana, Bhāṣā-Śikṣaṇa, Pāṭhyakrama, Kakṣā-Anusandhāna, and Nīti-Vimarśa — the journal welcomes critical and comparative scholarship across all Indian intellectual traditions, on equal terms and without sectarian preference.
